The discussion of healthcare in the U.S. has been even more recurring since President Trump’s administration has been working to repeal the Affordable Care Act, enacted by the Obama administration. There is no easy solution to the insurance problem in the U.S., but several private companies are trying to make things more streamlined by providing insurance for their employees. Amazon, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Berkshire Hathaway are some of those companies that are coming together to form a more affordable healthcare option for employees.

Most Americans have become fed up with the corporate insurance companies charging incredibly high prices in order to make a profit or their employers forcing them to see specific physicians that work for the company, which is why Amazon is seeking to provide healthcare to their employees through a non profit system.

Amazon has changed the way that consumers shop for just about everything including books, clothes and even groceries after recently buying the popular grocery chain, Whole Foods. It may be possible for Amazon to shake up the healthcare industry, but there are definitely going to be challenges.

There is not much that is known about how Amazon will offer these lower priced healthcare options to their employees, but the company will most likely make some captivating and revolutionary technological breakthroughs that could potentially help other companies provide more amenities to their employees as well.

Although Amazon’s newest endeavor may help their own employees and their families, what about the rest of America that is suffering from health care prices or accessibility?

More companies should be following the initiative that Amazon is taking, but in order for there to be a drastic change in the health care system in the U.S., something needs to be done in order to regulate large insurance corporations.
