Meet Melanie Stephens
September 30, 2016

As the new school year begins, Memorial welcomes many new teachers and says sad goodbyes to others. As of the first day of school, Troy Lallemand began teaching APEX classes as well as AISP. Lallemand moved to Oklahoma four years ago from his hometown of Wichita, Kan. He has taught at three schools prior to coming to Memorial; Bixby, Piedmont and Kapaun Mt Carmel High School in Wichita. He previously taught personal finance and was the head basketball coach at Piedmont High School.

“Because I was coaching basketball at Piedmont, my relationship with Memorial started with Coach Shane Cowherd,” Lallemand said. “When I found out that he had an assistant coach position open it definitely drew my attention to Memorial.”

Lallemand plans on being the coach for JV Boys Basketball as well as an assistant baseball coach. His previous coaching experience qualified him to make the switch to Memorial.

“I believe that Coach Lallemand will be a great addition to the basketball coaching team,” Cowherd said. “He brings a new perspective and a fresh outlook to the team.”
