Senior Hannah Flores is a young archer at Edmond Memorial High School. This year she placed third at state competition.

“I love the amount of focus and awareness needed, but the competition and social aspect of it are also amazing,” Flores said.My goals this year are to go into a collegiate program as well as place third in a national competition.”

In this environment she has to be in it helps her  grow and learn more things each and every day. As well as to strive for goals in her future.

“I hope to make the national team for my age and bow division either this year or the next,” Flores said. “I eventually want to make the adult national team and compete on a world level in the future.”

Flores practices and trains at different places but her tournaments are held at one consistent location.

“There are state tournaments that are held in different places in the metro and Tulsa, but I go to Texas A&M University for indoor national tournaments with outdoor national level tournaments being held in different places across the country,” Flores said.

One of her number one supporters is her dad because he has always helped her with training, tournaments and adopting the right mindset.

“My dad used to hunt with different bows,” Flores said. “Shooting recreationally with him made me interested in the sport.”

Her parents have been her number one supporter along her journey.

“Hannah is a serious dedicated athlete and tends to without much fanfare and cheerleading necessary,” Karen Flores said. “She is willing to work hard to reach her goals, and is willing to give a hand and help to others to be able to reach their goals as well”

Nationals is July 10-14 of 2019 and Hannah is hoping to earn first place.
