As Swine Week slowly reaches its crescendo, the dress-up days boost the Swine Week spirit. This year’s theme for Swine Week is Swine FM, which provided the opportunity for a unique dress-up day.

This year’s Thursday dress-up day is music icon day, where students are invited to dress up as their favorite famous musician.
From David Bowie to Sabrina Carpenter, all different kinds of music artists from a variety genres were seen across the school campus today. AP Literature and senior English teacher Beth Lewis was dressed as Shania Twain, a top-selling country artist.
“I did a little Pinteresting and thought, ‘This is easy; I could do this,’” Lewis said. “I love country music and Shania is one of the best of the 90s.”
Anna Rowntree, a senior and student council member who dressed up as Dolly Parton, feels that the music icon day gave students the chance to display their love for their favorite artist.

“It’s so much fun,” Rowntree said. “People get the opportunity to dress up as their favorite artist.”
Along with students displaying their love for their favorite artists, it gave students the ability to let their creativity shine through in the form of flashy outfits, bedazzled makeup or simple cowboy boots and a bandana. Senior Katie Kinkade decided to dress up as Zara Larsson

for the day, tying her outfit decision in with her own personal hobbies.
“I really wanted to do a fun and colourful makeup look because I really like doing makeup as a hobby,” Kinkade said. “So I was in between Chappell Roan and Zara Larson.”
Overall to begin the wrap up of the beloved Swine Week, the musical icon dress-up day was a hit for the student body of Edmond Memorial High School. The fun and creative outfits that students developed for this special week hit all of the right notes.
