With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time for all things spooky, including new seasonal thrillers like Hocus Pocus 2. This film is fun to watch and a perfect October movie for adults and children alike. A combination of comedy, excitement and mystery makes Hocus Pocus 2 a must-watch. With the original cast including Winifred Sanderson (Bette Midler), Sarah Sanderson (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary Sanderson (Kathy Najimy), as well as new characters such as Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), Becca (Whitney Peak) and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo). These recently added characters add a modern twist to the first Hocus Pocus. 

While Izzy and Becca are attending their town’s annual Halloween fair, they go to the magic shop and buy a strange looking candle. When it is lit, the witches awaken, bringing them back into the modern world. Since children’s souls keep the witches looking young, the first thing the witches do is try to find one. Although the world has changed a lot since they last saw it, the Sanderson Sisters venture out into Salem and hilariously discover what things are new to them. They think Walgreens is a potion shop and a Roomba vacuum is a small animal. Izzy, Becca and Cassie realize that the witches need to disappear from the world once again since they start to cause trouble around town. The three teenagers attempt everything they can think of to try and get rid of The Sanderson Sisters. Only when they realize that the one way they can rid Salem of the witches is to work together as a team do they finally succeed. 

After watching Hocus Pocus, I know this is definitely a movie I would watch again. With a great storyline, funny moments, and the perfect spooky vibe, this film does not disappoint. This movie combines classic aspects of Halloween, with modern twists, and a sprinkle of comedy and suspense.  Hocus Pocus 2 never has a dull moment. Entertaining, witty and just the right amount of spooky are all ways to describe the new film. For families with younger children and adults alike, Hocus Pocus 2 is the perfect family Halloween movie.
