ChatGPT is an online chatbot that is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The bot was developed by OpenAI, an AI company and research laboratory. OpenAI designed ChatGPT to be used as a virtual assistant, and its uses are limitless.

To use ChatGPT, the user simply inputs a question, task or statement into the chat bar. The AI will then work to generate a human-like response to the input based on information that it has stored. ChatGPT was built with 570 gigabytes of data spanning from books, online databases, articles and more. Due to the immense amount of material ChatGPT has access to, it can be used as a tool to solve many problems.

One of the most impressive of these capabilities is the bot’s ability to create and correct code. With the data ChatGPT is equipped with, it has the capability to solve problems in the coding world and can even do coding of its own. ChatGPT can even understand a vast array of computer languages, including Javascript, Python and  C++, For instance, if the user enters a code problem into ChatGPT, it can instantaneously generate a code snippet that will solve the issue described. Additionally, it has the capability to debug code. If a faulty line of code is entered into ChatGPT, it can debug it and generate the properly working version of it.

Another use of ChatGPT is the storytelling application. The bot can create a story or essay that fits the criteria entered by the user. Not only can it create original works of writing at the click of a button, the user can enter a previously existing piece of writing as a sample and ChatGPT will mimic the writing style of the author to write a piece on any subject. Users can use this feature to write research papers, pros and cons lists, articles, children’s stories, poems and even songs.

Many people have begun to call ChatGPT the “Google Killer” as it can explain confusing concepts in ways that cater to all people. It can generate simple or in-depth responses depending on how much the user desires to know. Some people have even gone as far as to use ChatGPT to create diet plans. ChatGPT is much more useful than the average search engine because its responses mirror human interactions so acutely with only a finite amount of data. This may be the most impressive feature of ChatGPT, and its potential is endless.

The current Version of ChatGPT is based on OpenAI’s GPT-3 neural network transformer. However, it is likely that they will soon launch GPT-4, which will skyrocket the computational abilities of ChatGPT making it even more versatile than before. Unfortunately, OpenAI has been relatively quiet on what all GPT-4 will entail. All in all, it is safe to say that the possibilities with ChatGPT will only become more advanced as time goes on. It makes one wonder if one day people will not be able to distinguish AI from real humans. Ultimately, lots of good will come from ChatGPT and other AI programs for years to come.
